Bear Noodle Bar
About This Spot
Stepping into Bear Noodle Bar feels like discovering a quietly spirited nook tucked just off the beaten path in Big Bear Lake’s village. There’s an unhurried rhythm to the place, where the buzz of kitchen activity hums softly in the background, blending with the warm, inviting chatter of fellow diners. The space carries a humble charm—modest, intimate, and just a little rough around the edges—that somehow makes it feel like a local secret you’re fortunate to share in.
The pace here encourages you to slow down and savor more than just the food. The staff move with earnest care, juggling busy shifts with genuine warmth, creating a vibe that’s both unpretentious and welcoming. It’s the sort of spot where a smile from the server reminds you that human connection still flavors the experience as much as any dish.
The menu quietly invites exploration, a collection of soulful broths and hand-crafted bowls that promise comfort without fuss. Whether it’s the soothing pull of a miso ramen, the gentle smoke of a whisky-infused broth, or the satisfying bite of crispy tofu, each plate arrives like a small revelation—steady, thoughtfully balanced, and grounded in familiar flavors uplifted by subtle, thoughtful touches. Side orders that include tender dumplings or crisp, flavorful bites complement the warmth of the soups, adding layers to the meal without overshadowing the comforting center.
Bear Noodle Bar resonates most with those who appreciate earnest food made with care, where moments unfold quietly between slurps and shared tables, and where the hum of the kitchen feels like an undercurrent to easy conversation. It’s a place that invites visitors to settle in, take their time, and leave a little warmer than when they arrived.

Everything here is simply good! If you’re craving hot noodles or comforting soup noodles, every choice on the menu is delicious and satisfying and ofcourse there's more room for improvement! The server is incredibly friendly and hardworking—even though she was working alone, she managed to serve everyone with a smile, kept the restaurant clean, and made the whole experience feel welcoming. I forgot to ask her name, but she was truly amazing. If you ever find yourself in Big Bear, don’t miss out on visiting Bear Noodle Bar. It’s definitely worth trying! 09-28-2025 1730H

Never have i been to a place that had big portions on an appetizer. Idk if i got lucky and the chicken just happened to be huge that night. Wow factor for sure and the taste was great. Also the ramen was delicious and drank up that soup right away. Staff were really nice and hard working, so be patient and respectful. The food will come and it’ll be worth the wait, if it happens to be busy.

What a gem! Must try! We enjoyed the shrimp, ramen, and Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Very busy on this holiday night and they hustled, 25 minute wait after ordering (vs estimated 30 min).

Tried Bear Noodle Ramen and really enjoyed it! The ramen tasted amazing and was very flavorful. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. I liked that you can choose your own broth and protein. I tried the whisky shoyu broth with grilled chicken and tofu, and it was delicious. Overall, a great place with great food.

Located in the village. We stopped by for an early dinner and was empty inside. I ordered a whiskey shoyu ramen with crispy tofu. Spouse had the miso ramen with grilled chicken since pork belly was sold out. We ate inside, however it felt a bit stuffy and had lots of flies around. I enjoyed the crispy tofu as was made fresh. Ramen had a lot of noodles and toppings were good, however felt the broth for both were okay.

When I looked at the Google reviews for this ramen shop, I was genuinely curious. Some criticized it as worthless, while others praised it highly. Anyway, I wanted some soup noodles today, but the options in the Big Bear Lake tourist area are limited, so I decided to try this. Although it sells ramen, the owner isn't Japanese, so don't worry about whether it has Japanese flavor. It's a bit pricey, but that's typical of tourist areas. The Japanese ramen was actually quite good, and surprisingly, the portion of chashu pork was incredibly generous. While it wasn't traditional Japanese chashu, the taste was decent. As for the Taiwanese beef noodles, the broth wasn't up to par, but even Taiwanese people aren't always able to make this kind of food well, so I don't understand why they would force themselves to. Overall, I think this is a fast-food restaurant. The environment is clean and tidy, the food isn't cheap, but the portions are generous. You need to use a machine to order; ask beforehand if you have any questions. If you can accept these things, you shouldn't have any major problems when you visit.

Tasty Ramen for the cold weather. Had the miso with pork, noodles are pretty good! The meat had good flavor and was soft but it was a little on the dry side. Overall very tasty. I like the fact that they have the self order kiosk. The service was pretty fast, there wasn't a lot of people when I came in. A little pricey but so is everything else in big bear.
